Clematis 'Contorta'

Medium sized, pale lilac flowers with white stamens. Twisted tepals - hence its name? This name appears in Spingarn's 1935 lists but the form now seems lost to cultivation. If you know otherwise, or have further details, please get in touch.

The plate from Revue Horticole shows 'Contorta' at the centre of the drawing.
