Clematis 'Ascanio'

This cultivar appears in Magnus Johnson's 'Genus Clematis' where he says that the tepals are lilac with a white bar. He also quotes Spingarn (1935) as saying that it flowers double. The form now seems to be lost to cultivation. If you know otherwise, please contact us.
