Clematis 'Edouard Desfossé'

Large or very large, deep blue flowers with a reddy-purple bar. The flowers fade to lavender blue. Red-purple to dark brown anthers on white filaments. In 1912, William Robinson in his book 'The Virgin's Bower' lists this cultivar as "trusted to give lovely effects if culture and position be all [it] deserves."
